Item Details

Description

This is a very fine Old Teke Buti idol. Buti are named after and identified as specific male ancestors and located in a shrine to one’s deceased family members. Individual male devotees use buti figures to address a variety of personal concerns with help from the spirit world. 17 inches tall ( 18.25 inches on lucite base. ) This Idol has a very well handled patina suggesting years of traditional use. The red fabric covers some sort of bundle which has some old rusted iron inside as well as other unknown magic material.
