Description
Hyde (Laurence, first Earl of Rochester, politician, second son of Edward Hyde, first Earl of Clarendon, Hyde, bap. 1642, d. 1711) Autograph Letter signed, 2pp., sm. 4to with conjugate blank, Whitehall, 27th March 1683, Rochester is glad that "Mr. Seymour [is] in so good a temper towards the Kings Service", and with an interesting postscript, "The great fire at New-Market hath brought the King and all the Court back hither 5 days sooner than his Ma:ty intended, which I think will likewise hasten the Journy to Windsor so much, for the King will not stay in the Towne...", folds.
