Lot of (2) Late 19th c. Mechanical Banks, including: "Toad on Stump", J.& E. Stevens Mfg., patented in 1875, press lever to open toad's mouth, release lever to deposit the coin, original painted surface, 3" high, 4" x 3 1/2", paint losses, spring weak; and "Tammany Bank", John Hall design, attributed to J. & E. Stevens, patented June 8, 1875, place a coin in Boss Tweed's hand, and it will deposit in the slot above his other arm, 5 3/4" high, 3 1/4" x 4 1/2", surface rust, paint losses.
