Description
Chinese Qing Dynasty Qianlong boys motif red bowl. The porcelain potted with a shallow body, of a shallow vessel, broad wide cavetto, with a straight opening lip, raised on a small round, slightly raised concave footing. All reserved hand painted ornamentations are rendered in ruby red underglaze base color which contrast against the famille rose design color. Famille rose hand painting depicted vividly hand painted in enamel design, famille rose translates to the pink family, on a colored ground decoration. Each bulging sides enclosing colorful falangcai, famille rose on a colored ground decoration, of Bajixiang. The Exterior adorned with several boys in various pursuit. Most of the time in Chinese art 'children' means 'sons'. Before 1949 only a male heir could inherit the parental estate and perform the ancestral sacrifices for father and forefathers. The more sons a man had, the better. Some patriarchal prodigies in Chinese history are held up as examples such as Wen-wang, the founder of the Zhou dynasty (c. 1050 BC) who, we are told, had a hundred sons. In Chinese art, children playing with lotus leaves, could still today be found together with references to Wen-wang. For two thousand years what parents aimed for with their life was to have sons, and for them to pass the provincial examinations and the final examination in the capital, which would led to high office, success, respect and often to wealth The colors are harmonious, elegant and exquisite, the composition is sophisticated, simply a feast for the eyes. The porcelain displays a subtle sheen as the light ricochets across the finely glazed exterior. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous, the shape is uniformly proportioned.

The Under-base bears a reign mark, a six underglaze red script characters reign mark, Made In The Years of Qianlong Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
