Title:HAMMOND ANTIQUE TERRESTRIAL GLOBE 8" LATE 1920 Art deco base

Additional Information:This 8 inches globe was edited by the American maker HAMMOUND , one of the Chicago map maker emerging in the early 20th.century . The metal base is a staple of the art deco design of the early 1920's with a touch of art and craft. This model was the top of the line back then , the globe is made of 12 gores glued on a metal ball ( see picture below) , by the early 1940's the maker had already started to print cardboard which was shaped in the form of 2 halves to be glued together .From the political borders I place it late 1920's , Congo Belge , West French Africa , Constantinople ( changed to Istanbul in 1930) ,Former Russia now identified as USSR (1926).
Size:globe D. 8 inches , H.24 ,overall good condition but not pristine , there are some discoloration and oxidation , a small dent in India.All of the map , name and printing are clear and readable .
