Warthog bronze by Dauchez,cire perdue.8 inches by 5.5 inches.For those of you not familiar with the process, a cire perdue(lot wax) cast is a one of a kind lost wax process, where the sculptor carves the image out of wax, which melts on the first cast from the heat of the liquid bronze, hence preventing the sculptor or the foundry from making multiples.Artist chose this process since you can achieve greater detail in wax then in other materials, despite being limited to one cast.Foundry mark for the Blanchet-Landowski Foundry in Paris.
