Abe Blashko (1920-2011) was born in Seattle, Washington. As an artist he was mostly self-taught. His work during the depression earned him a single artist exhibition at the Seattle Museum of Art. He moved to New York City and continued drawing the "gritty edge of street life." His love of music and dance show up in his later works and showcase his elegant sense of design.
