Rare American Rococo Revival Laminated Rosewood Bedstead, Bearing the Patent Stamp of J. H. Belter, New York
mid-19th century, in two-part form with a serpentine headboard, footboard and sides, the central crest with large flowers above a plaque-form cartouche and flanked by large scrolls, the inside tops of each leg and the side rails bearing the stamp "J. H. BELTER, PATENT AUG. 19, 1856".

Condition
In overall very good condition. The piece exhibits minor shrinkage, mars and wear consistent with age
and use. It appears to have been refinished and restored.
The assembled bed is tight and sturdy.
No veneer losses noted. Absolutely no delamination of the layers of wood observed.
There are customary flakes to the edges of the carved leaves in the crest carving.
Rail upholstery is in good condition.
