Description
Roy Rogers' Personally Owned Leather Western Gloves W/Letter of Provenance & Signed Photo - These leather western gloves were personally owned by the King of the Cowboys, Roy Rogers. This is a wonderful piece of memorabilia from an iconic American singer and actor who was one of the most popular Western stars of his era. The gloves have fringe details on the cuffs and applied gold-colored "Roy Rogers" and "RR" logos. These gloves were acquired from author and collector, Sue McCasland, who obtained the piece from The 2001 Pope's Auctions Roy Rogers and Dale Evans Estate Sale. McCasland was active during the 1970s and 80s and worked at the Elvis Presley Birthplace in Tupelo, Mississippi. During her lifetime she met and spent time with celebrities such as Elvis and Roy Rogers, and wrote the books "Elvis Now Ours Forever" and "World's Best Kept Secret: Elvis - live at Sahara Tahoe". The gloves will be accompanied by a letter of provenance along with a 5" x 7" photo of McCasland, Roy Rogers and her husband Bob, which is signed by Rogers to Sue and Bob.
