The original ink on paper illustration for the Temple Bailey short story Phyllida. While this illustration predates the 'Sweet Monsters' series, the technique is the same that O'Neill describes in her autobiography as .'an intricate network of lines with a small brush and India ink.'
This work was exhibited at the Brandywine River Museum in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, a shrine of serious and important American Illustration Art.
Sheet size 6.5 x 15, frame measures 11 x 19.25 inches.
