Neben ihrer Lehrtätigkeit betrieb Moholy-Nagy Feldstudien wo sie unter anderem die Spuren der Einwanderer in Nordamerika und ihre aus ihren Heimatländern importierten Bauweisen und ihre Weiterentwicklung in den Vereinigten Staaten untersuchte. Für ihre Arbeiten zur traditionellen Architektur wurde sie 1953 das Arnold-Brunner-Stipendium der Architectural League of New York. Aus ihren Feldstudien resultierte ihr Werk Native Genius in Anonymous Architecture welches sie 1955 publizierte und dem von ihr bewunderten Architekten Frank Lloyd Wright widmete. Seine Architektur so kommentiere sie füge sich harmonisch in die amerikanische Landschaft ein.

Famous book of the wife of Laszlo Moholy-Nagy who was also active as an architectural historian. In addition to her teaching activities Moholy-Nagy conducted field studies where she examined among other things the traces of immigrants in North America and their construction methods imported from their home countries and their further development in the United States. In 1953 she was awarded the Arnold Brunner Scholarship of the Architectural League of New York for her work on traditional architecture. Her field studies resulted in her work Native Genius in Anonymous Architecture which she published in 1955 and dedicated to the architect Frank Lloyd Wright whom she admired. She comments that his architecture blends harmoniously into the American landscape.
