Description

American Aesthetic Movement Ebonized Easel, ca. 1875, of traditional A-frame form, the display tray fitted with a height-adjustment mechanism, with a fold-out storage bin below, the face centered by a panel with a carved rondel, h. 73", w. 24-1/2", d. 30".

Condition

In overall very good condition. The surface appears to be original, with some minor scattered inpainting. It exhibits normal wear and abrasions to the edges. One of the turned columns flanking the upper center support has been broken and repaired. Either the nut or bolt that secures the adjustable back brace is stripped.
