Lovely Persian manuscript notable for the hand-painted covers as well as the captivating miniature paintings. The covers are from the early 19th century, during the Qajar dynasty. The front cover depicts a horseman spearing a bear; the rear shows a man and woman seated together on the ground; the inside of the front cover shows a man resting on pillows; and the inside of the rear cover depicts a woman resting on pillows surrounded by fruit. The covers are glazed, apparently done at the time of execution. Such hand-colored covers a very uncommon, and fragile.
