Provenance: Bought in at 2011 Christie's sale, estimate $5K-$8K
Notes/Literature: The renowned French decorating firm L. Alavoine et Cie opened a New York City branch in 1893, and in cooperation with the great French decorator, Allard, designed such notable interiors as The Plaza Hotel (1907), Marble House (1892) the Breakers (1895), as well as numerous Newport mansions designed by Richard Morris Hunt
