A Greek black-glazed olpe, Magnia Graecia, 4th Century BC, the body ovoid with ring foot and horizontal groove around shoulder, remnants of a vine motif above. The mouth is widely flared with single loop handle. H: 4 1/8 in (10.5cm). Ex UK private collection acquired from Herakles Numismatics and Antiquities, Munich in early 2000's; previously belonging to a German private collection formed in the 1970's.
