Description
A lot of books for collectors of artist dolls. Lewis Sorensen was a well known maker of wax dolls and charter member of the National Institute for American Doll Artists. His scrapbook, compiled by Don Thorup and published in 1976, is a large hardcover book with dust jacket. The American Doll Artist and The American Doll Artist, Volume II, both by Helen Bullard, give biographies and lists the works by many of the major American doll artists of the mid 20th century, including Martha Thompson, Dorothy Heizer, Dewees Cochran, Gertrude Florian, Avis Lee, the Ravcas, Roberta Bell, and many, many others. These hardcover books with dust jackets were published in 1965 and 1975. The British Doll Artists Association Directory, Second Edition, published in 1982, is a booklet with brief bios and a photo for each of the Association’s members, which include Ann Parker and Paul Crees, among others. Good reference material for the lover of vintage artist dolls!
