Signed by photographer Gordon Parks on verso of half-title page with the inscription "Through the lens - Gordon Parks at 85 - more creative than ever / the joy of living is work". Originally published in Paris one year earlier. This edition with the first appearance of Kerouac's six page introduction, which was not included in the French edition, "Les Amercains", published in 1958 by Robert Delpire. Charters B10. Embossed stamp of Deborah G. Garner on front free endpaper and title page.
Condition
Minuscule chips at ends of slightly darkened jacket spine, a few closed tears with shallow creases, paper call-number label affixed at jacket heel; light soiling to cloth; leaves mildly toned; near fine in about near fine jacket.
