Chinese Yuan Dynasty Period, Blue and white porcelain pear vase. Chinese traditional YuHuChun shape vessel, the pear-shaped bottle vase, a bottom-heavy body tapered gracefully to the slender-waisted neck, rotund body with rounded shoulders converging into a short neck, flaring at the rim, supported on short spreading foot ring. All reserved hand painted ornamentations are rendered in clean white underglaze base color which contrast against the cobalt blue fine color. The belly decorated in a land space of the water plants, various floral and foliage, flowers blooms, among Chinese duck swans in a peace Lishui water, banded with scrolling interlocking tendril and ruyi, enclosed with double fine blue rings lines. Mandarin ducks are believed to mate for life and, therefore, a pair of mandarin ducks symbolize fidelity, conjugal affection, peace and prosperity. The neck decorated with upturning tropical lappets, reputing geometric pattern, enclosed with double fine blue ring lines. The underside unglazed, revealed the pale-creme ground and dark grayish brown spotted firing marks and edge-cut foot rim. This piece displays a subtle sheen as the light ricochets across the finely exterior, glazed smooth, brilliant with a moist appearance, the finishing meticulous.
