A seriously fine master carving by an unknown sculptor of extreme talent, here honoring the Zen Monk best known as the God of fortune, guardian of the children, patron of diviners and barmen, and also the god of popularity. A modest surface age crack under the tadpole offering the God a coin, a tight crack line down his left inner sleeve down to just within the rock work base. 7.25" length, 4.25" max. width, 8.25" height
