Description
An Egyptian ceramic head flask, Ptolemaic, 2nd - 1st Century BC, in the form of the head of Hermes, with short-cropped hair, handsome features and wearing a winged headdress. The head is surmounted by a narrow spout with two pierced handles. H: 2 1/4 in (5.7 cm). Well preserved matt red slip with light deposits. Mounted on old black wood base. Ex collection of William Major Tedder.
