Description
Ancient Roman Glass Janus Head Flask Ca. 1st-2nd century A.D. Size 3 1/8 inches High. x 1-3/4 inches Wide. Yellow-green glass, mold blown Janus head flask. Either side of the body a the face with round textured hair and relief blown facial features. Cylindrical neck emerges from top of head with rolled wide rim. iridescent patina with scattered encrustation. A nice example. Provenance: NYC collection, acquired from Manhattan Gallery 1970's
