Pre-Columbian, Mexico and Guatemala, Maya Territories, Late Classic, ca. 550 to 900 CE (darkest piece); Pre-Columbian, Central America, Costa Rica, ca. 1 to 800 CE (palest piece); Pre-Columbian, southern Mexico / Guatemala, Olmec culture, ca. 1150 to 550 BCE (widest piece). A trio of stone blade-shaped pendants. First, a long, thin, black celt (ceremonial axe head) with an anthropomorphic form incised onto one face. Second, a highly abstract, anthropomorphic pendant carved from a grey-green stone. Third, a very dark, mottled green stone pendant of the style known as "duck head," with two eye-like holes drilled through it for suspension and a broad, blade-like "beak" that hands below them. Size of largest (Mayan): 2.7" H (6.9 cm)
