**In "as is" estate condition. Abrading and small losses along edges. Several flakes at upper left and upper right corners. Scratch - approx. 1-1/2" - in beard. Slight indentation and corresponding losses to paint surface at mid-right and a small puncture with corresponding losses to paint surface at edge of lips. Evidence of past restoration: filler inpainting in hair, beard and other scattered areas; larger areas below ear, center of beard, edge of mustache and far right edge of beard; area slightly below and to right of signature (does not interfere with signature). Two patches en verso corresponding to inpainting. Slight scattered craquelure. Some surface soiling and slight yellowing of varnish layer.
