Wild Sports of the World: Portraits of celebrated hunters from original photographs and maps showing the habitats of animals all over the world. James Greenwood; Published S.O. Beeton, London Strand, 1864.

Divided into chapters (Gorilla, Lion, Elephant, etc) that devotedly explain specie behaviors to better tame and hunt. Profusely illustrated with both wood cuts and shocking color litho hunting scenes. (6) folding maps with keys mark six continent's animal populations for reference.
Gorgeous copy with full leather binding and gilt spine. Few interior imperfections: a blot of pen ink that affect several page's edge, single tear to spine and wear to edge / corners of covers.
