Depicts fisherman inspired by THE COMPLEAT ANGLER by Isaac (Izaak) Walton, first published in 1653, and features song and verse excerpts about the joys of fishing. This rack plate features a willow tree border surrounding three fishermen with the verse WHERE IN A BROOK WITH A HOOK. OR A LAKE. FISH WE TAKE. OF RECREATION THERE IS NONE SO FREE AS FISHING IS ALONE. Signed by the artist in the glaze. Doulton backstamp on bottom. Includes display stand.
