Circa 1940-1950 AD. A wooden discus with steel rim and bronze studs, made by 'O.Y. Urheilutarpeita A.B. Karhu - Sportarticles Co. Ltd - Helsinki - Finland', believed to have been used in the 1952 Helsinki Summer Olympics. 2 kg, 22cm (8 3/4"). Property of a European gentleman living in London; acquired on the UK art market. The 1952 Summer Olympics (officially known as the Games of the XV Olympiad) were an international multi-sport event held in Helsinki, Finland, from July 19 to August 3, 1952. [No Reserve]
