The binding shows very heavy wear; a binding copy. Front board is detached, and the rear board has a 5 inch split starting at the foot of the spine and the rest of the hinge is cracked. Some of the leather is peeling up from the lower right corner of the rear board. The bottom of the text block is damped. the damping does appear on some pages. The leather is dry, and there is old scuffing and superficial cracking to the leather on the spine. Marbled endpapers. Text has some foxing and toning. Some pages have small tears. Some obituaries are glued to the rear endpapers. Names are written on the Birth/Death pages, including marriage dates. Illustrated with several small woodcut text engravings and a few full-page engravings. Included in the book are two pieces of 18th century paper, possibly end papers from another smaller Bible, that have been laminated.”.
