1635 Martin Luther ENGLISH Bible Commentary on Galatians Protestant Reformation
“Even if I knew that tomorrow the world would go to pieces, I would still plant my apple tree.”
― Martin Luther
Martin Luther is one of the most iconic and well-recognized figures of the Protestant Reformation. His theological teachings which rejected many of the Roman Catholic Church’s doctrines were polarizing in the development of Renaissance Protestantism. He translated the Bible into German and added commentary which would influence how the Bible was translated in centuries moving forward.
This 1635 edition of Martin Luther’s ‘Commentary on Galatians” is exceptionally rare, mostly due to the English printing. During the 16th- and 17th-centuries, editions of Luther’s works were predominantly published in German. This edition features a preface and commendatory epistle by Edwin Sandys, a bishop of London.
