Description
Guillaume-Stanislas Trébutien was a 19th-century French orientalist author who published translations of the famous ‘Arabian Nights’ and other Arabic and Turkish poems.
In 1836, Trébutien wrote a short historical poem on the Crusades entitled ‘Le Pas Salhadin’ – based on the story of Saladin, the first sultan of Egypt under the Ayyubid Dynasty in the 12th-century. He was an important leader of a campaign defending against the Crusaders.
