Description
attributed to GEBRUDER THONET, AN EBONIZED BENTWOOD ARMCHAIR, POSSIBLY VIENNESE, CIRCA 1886, the hoop back centering a scrolled heart above whip scrolls, above a curved integral woven cane seat, within scrolled arms, raised on tapered splayed legs, joined by an upper circular stretcher. Height: 39 1/2" Width: 21" Depth: 18 1/2"
Condition
Damage to the cane seat, rubbing of ebonzied decoration at arms and legs, some abrasive wear at arms, apparent repairs and added support to seat, otherwise in good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
