Description

A VINTAGE ENGLISH BRASS SHIP'S CLOCK AND MARINE BAROMETER MOUNTED OAK PANEL, 20TH CENTURY, the white enamel clock dial centering a S/F lever over black Roman chapters and black enameled hands, flanked by a circular seconds dial and winding key escapement centering, "CHADBURN LIVERPOOL" above "MADE IN ENGLAND," within a circular brass case and hinged glass covered bezel, with winding key, dial diameter: 7.00"; together with a barometer centering black printed, "Sistrel" above "HENRY BROWNE & SON LTD. BARKING & LONDON COMPENSATED, MILLIMETERS/MILLIBARS, ENGLISH MADE MARINE BAROMETER," enclosing red and black painted metal hands, diameter: 5.75", mounted on a blond oak framed panel, height: 24.745", width: 14.75".

Condition

The clock's white enamel face has faint crazing throughout, some flaking of Roman chapters, a few smudges, surface buildup. The brass case has a dull patina and surface buildup. The barometer face has scattered brown spots throughout and the metal hands have flaked in areas revealing surface rust.
