North America, United States, ca. mid 19th century CE. A lovely ensemble of three antique daguerreotype photographs in leather Union cases. The first photo features an older woman with a somber expression, a satin dress, and fingerless lace gloves, and is set in an embossed brass mat with a protective glass cover plate and a curvilinear brass preserver. The second photo features a younger woman with a checkered dress, and is set in an embossed brass mat with a protective glass cover plate and an ovular brass preserver. The third photo features two women, perhaps mother and daughter, with buttoned dresses, lace collars, and hands over their laps; the photo has an embossed brass mat, a protective glass cover panel, and a rectangular perimeter brass preserver. A wonderful collection of early photographs! Size of largest: 0.5" L x 3.125" W x 3.625" H (1.3 cm x 7.9 cm x 9.2 cm).

Condition
All leather cases have exterior wear to covers and binding and all photos have expected fading and wear. Older woman's leather case has lost its binding, so two leather halves are separated.
