Description

Quarter-Plate Daguerreotype of an Intense Young Woman wearing snood and stand collar, circa 1850, plain brass oval mat, in the original leather case with red velvet lining stamped "Brady's Gallery, 205 & 207 Broadway". 3 3/4" x 4 3/4" case. Separated hinge, tape stain to top of velvet. Photo appears to be very good, speckling looks to be on reverse of the heavy glass cover, some fogging at edges at bottom.
