Description

Believe to be custom made for Mexican Navy ca 1840/1845 or American Militia ca 1840. Gold wash cross guard with detailed wing spread eagle with shield, double sided. Gold wash grip and Roman helmet pommel. Gilded brass scabbard with ornate mounts and three figural hands holding ring hangers. Double etched blade decorated with leaves, berries, scrollwork and patriotic motif. Blade measures 31 ½ inches.

Condition

Some dents to scabbard.
