Description
Paul Klee (Swiss, 1879-1940): Lithograph on paper, signature in plate top right, unframed. Paul Klee was one of the most important figures in the development of 20th century modernism. After studying under Heinrich Knirr and Franz von Stuck, he befriended Wassily Kandinsky in Munich and became a founding member of Der Blaue Rieter, an avant-garde group of expressionists who believed in the expressive nature of color and its relationship to spirituality, folk art, and music.
