Description
Pair of Chinese porcelain general helmet Jars. Stoutly potted with baluster jar with tall feminine silhouette with broad shoulders and a body, pinches at the waist then elegantly fans near its foot.
The baluster jar is capped by a relatively tall bell-shaped lid, in form of a generals helmet, crowned with an iron-red pinnacle.
all reserved in a iron-red underglaze base color and the main body decorated by Lotus flowers blooms interspersed with tendril and foliage in a pale-yellow color. the neck and the dome decorated with similar design of the main body. The rim is circumscribed by yellow thick lines border. The glaze is seamless and gives off a beautiful luster, with the colors maintaining excellent vibrancy. The glaze terminating slightly about the foot base, with pale-creme base spotted firing marks, ground and unglazed under-base with dark-brown and black firing marks from kiln process.
(ONE PORCELAIN LID IS MISSING)
The under-base bears a reign mark, a vertical six underglaze blue script characters reign mark, Made in The Years of Jiajing Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
