Description
Princess Mary brass gift box, given to troops during WWI in 1914. Rare with complete original content including the bullet pencil as they have usually been lost and all tobacco still there. Top of box is embossed with relief of Mary framed by ''M'' on each side and reads, ''CHRISTMAS 1914''. Six small circles around border list Britain's allied countries: Belgium, Japan, Russia, Montenegro, Servia and France. Contents include pack of cigarettes and tobacco package, both labelled, ''HER ROYAL HIGHNESS THE PRINCESS MARY'S CHRISTMAS FUND 1914''. A small enveloped Christmas card reads: ''With Best Wishes for a Happy Christmas and a Victorious New Year From The Princess Mary and Friends at Home''. Also included is a small portrait photo of Mary. Cigarettes and Tobacco remain in very good condition are complete. Box has minor wear and oxidation from use and age, but in overall very good condition. Good Condition. All signed pieces come with a Certificate of Authenticity.
