War of 1812 French Military Flintlock Pistol "1812" Dated
1812-Dated, War of 1812 Period, French Military Model Year "AN XIII" (1804) Flintlock Military Service Pistol, from the French Arsenal at Saint Etienne, Fine.
Original American War of 1812 Period and Napoleonic War, French Military Model Year "An XIII" (1804) Flintlock Service Pistol. This Pistol has an 8" long, .69 caliber barrel, and is dated "1812" having an overall size measuring about 14.5". Its Lock is marked, "Manif Imp de St. Etienne" (French Arsenal at Saint Etienne). The Stock is marked on the right side of grip, "P. B. 1812" and has an unidentified stamp vertically located just behind the rear side nail (screw). There is a fine horizontal stress crack in front of the lock plate, otherwise it is very solid with light use from years of actual service. All of its Iron parts have a natural dark age patina, while all Brass parts have a natural deep yellow-olive age patina. Overall, this "1812" Dated Flintlock Pistol is in good working mechanical order, making it very collectable. This historic gun remains in its original Flintlock configuration with its original ram rod, and brass regulation furniture.
