Description
A Chinese stone Buddhist stele, carved in high relief with two standing Bodhisattvas in front of a mandorla that is raised on a rectangular plinth. It is inscribed with ‘Bei Qi He Qing San Nian’ (3rd year of Heqing of Northern Qi Dynasty which corresponds to 565 A.D.).
Dimensions are: 7 1/4 inches wide by 14 1/8 inches high. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: It is in overall good condition with a chip on the point of the mandorla.
Provenance: From estate of Mrs. Wodich in McClean, VA.
