Two East African Vessels, first, Somalia, wood pot in fiber basket, h. 16 in., w. 11 1/2 in, d. 11 3/4 in., second, Oromo, Southern Ethiopia, leather and cowrie shell embellished fiber milk/butter container, h. 14 in., dia. 7 in. Provenance: Memphis Brooks Museum of Art, Memphis, TN. Condition: First: overall good condition; scattered marks, nicks and abrasions throughout; minor chips to wooden frame; small hole in lid ; surface dirt. Second: structurally sound, scattered marks, nicks and abrasions throughout; leather straps are very stiff; losses to cowrie shells throughout; chip to rim of lid; possible insect damage IMPORTANT: All purchases must be removed from our premises within 10 days of the auction. Any items not picked up or remaining at the end of the 10-day period will be donated. * When available condition information is included with lot description.
