Description
Antique artifact from Eastern Africa. Province of Kaffa (Kefa), Southwest Ethiopia. A milk jug with its original lid, done in a traditional manner. Made of woven basketry (native vegetative fibers, reeds), lined and strengthened with earthenware in a primitive, but sophisticated manner. Decorated with attached Cowry (Cowrie) shells. An antique artifact - circa late 1800's/very early 1900's. Measurements: 12" high with lid (30.50 cm), 7" widest diameter (18 cm)
