Description

Rookwood scenic vellum plaque depicting a late fall countryside at eventide. This enchanting scene executed by Sara Sax in 1914, reveals a creek meandering through rolling hills with tall trees in sparse foliage and shrouded by the afterglow of a bright orange sky. Measures 9 1/4 inches by 14 1/4 inches. Marks include the Rookwood symbol, the date and an incised V on the back. Ms. Sax signature is on the front lower left corner. All over fine crazing. Housed within the original wood frame measuring 14 7/8 inches by 20 inches. Wonderful Arts & Crafts presentation.
