Edwin Frederick Holt (1830 - 1912) A Dog's Dinner, the three pets contemplate a plate of leftovers in a Victorian drawing-room signed and dated 1883, inscribed Prize Medal R.A. [Royal Academy], oil on canvas, 62cm x 51.5cm Edwin Frederick Holt was born in Hampstead in 1830 and lived most of his adult life in Dunstable. He studied at the Royal Academy of Art, where he won the silver medal in 1854. He exhibited seven pictures at the Royal Academy, twelve at the British Institution and forty at the Royal Society of British Artists.
