MILLER HENRY: (1891-1980) American Writer. A.L.S., Henry Miller, Pacific Palisades, California, 11th May 1963, to Guy Harlow. A good and interesting content letter by Miller, stating in part `…will be delighted to receive your generous gifts - the reprint and (?) a painting. I saw some of your work in a friend´s art gallery recently in Beverly Hills. I am painting all the time now - but only aquarelles. (155 so far this year)´, further saying `As for putting money into publishing - no impossible! I can´t even manage to pay my income tax when it comes due.´ and before concluding referring to Morocco and Spain `I note you live mostly in Tangiers. Is that a good place? Prefer Fez or one of the others. What do you know about Cadiz? Have the tourists ruined it by now?´ Postmarked and addressed in his hand to the verso. Folded. VG £200-300
