Description
Lot of four items signed by Austrian military figures of World War I, includes: KARL ROSENBERGER (two A.Ls.S., both to Franz Bohme, sending congratulations on the occasion of his marriage and his promotion to colonel, June and October 1929), JOHANN VON SAGBURG ZU PFEFFERS (T.L.S. to Franz Bohme, sending congratulations in the name of the officers of the 9th Alpine Light Infantry Regiment on the occasion of his promotion to colonel, October 1929) and OTTO WIESINGER (signed pamphlet entitled Why War? Is eternal peace possible or probable? reprinted from the Catholic journal The People's Weal in 1935/6, with German text although accompanied by a complete English translation). Very good. FRANZ BOHME (1885-1947) was an Austrian general in the Wehrmacht, commander of the XVIII Mountain Corps in the Balkans and Commander-in-Chief in German occupied Norway during World War II. He was arraigned for war crimes at Nuremberg and committed suicide while awaiting trial.
