Title:WWII German Luftwaffe Bomber Squadron Flight Aviator Pilot Airmen Osang Dresden Clasp Description by Chris CNX 1014:This is a WWII German Luftwaffe bomber squadron clasp. It has a flying bomb at the center that is encircled in a gold-tone wreath flanked by gold-tone leaves at each side (bronze & tombac, I believe). Marked G.H. Osang, Dresden on the back. Luftwaffe clasps were awarded to pilots & airmen for operational sorties in a combat zone. They were issued in three different levels; bronze, silver & gold, and were an indicator was to how many missions the person completed. Made as a clasp not a pin, the paddle-like pin bar is not designed to pierce fabric. Our auction estimate on this piece is 10-10000. Provenance:This piece comes to us from the Greenberg estate, an 85 year old retiree from New York with an amazing collection of Judaica, antiquities, and antiques, most with original receipts and certificates of authenticity.Maker:German governmentCondition:Metal shows overall light surface wear with toning / patina consistent with age.
