Scratch built steamboat model of the Narragansett Bay passenger steamer Warwick. Originally launched as the Day Starr in 1873, the ship was renamed and rebuilt due to a fire around 1900. The vessel ran until about 1925 when it was sold and later dismantled in 1935.
Wood,Boat measures approx. 26 1/2" long,Case: 29 1/2"w x 11"d x 14 3/4"t
Plaque on base reads "S.S. Warwick ex. Day Starr 1873-1935".
From the estate of Charles L. Rochon Jr., member of the Steamship Historical Society of America for over 50 years and active artist and craftsman building historically correct models of steamships.
