Description
Qing dynasty, the brush washer of an even pale celadon color carved in the form of a lotus leaf with incurved edges and a snail on the interior, with seed pod (symbol of fertility), stem, and frond beneath, incised veining throughout, on a finely-carved conforming two-piece wood stand, the upper section in zitan depicting several lotus leaves, flowers, and seed pods bundled together at one end, the lower section of a lighter wood in a dark stain with archaistic wire-inlaid open fretwork
