An Elizabeth II parcel gilt sterling silver lifeboat bowl, London 1974 by Aurum, designed by Hector Miller & Ian Ribbons, workshop of Stuart Devlin Of circular form with wavy sides and gilt textured central boss, engraved underneath ‘NUMBER 594 OF A LIMITED EDITION OF 750 MADE BY ORDER OF THE ROYAL LIFEBOAT INSTITUTION TO COMMEMORATE THEIR ONE HUNDRED & FIFTIETH ANNIVERSARY IN 1974’. Fully marked. Cased. Diameter – 20 cm / 8 inches Weight – 313 grams / 10.06 ozt The scene depicts the rescue of the crew of the ‘St George’ off Douglas, Isle of Man, on 20 November 1830 by volunteers led by Sir William Hillary, founder of the Institution
