Description
A tall Rookwood pottery vase, converted to a lamp. Designed by Kataro Shirayamadani (1865-1948). The tall tapering lamp base having a good mat teal drip glaze with off-white highlights, decorated with a molded raised in relief wisteria motif. Marks underfoot include the Rookwood logo, date XLVI (1946) and the shape 6871. The pottery measures 14" high, 6" diameter. The lamp is raised on three gilt bronze acanthus leaf and paw feet, attached to a circular flat base. Brass socket and cover mount, conical glass shade. Overall, 24.75" high to top of shade, 8" diameter shade.
